How are gift recommendations generated?
Recommendations are built from the profile inputs you provide — age, interests, occasion, and budget — then matched against our curated product database with direct buying links where available. The more detail you give, the sharper the results.
Why do some links open search pages instead of a specific product?
If a specific product URL cannot be reliably resolved (due to regional availability or stock changes), we fall back to the most relevant search results page on that platform. This avoids dead links and always keeps you on a useful page.
Can I choose which shopping platform to buy from?
Yes. You can set a preferred shopping platform in your account profile and results will prioritise links from that platform wherever possible — Amazon, Etsy, and others are all supported.
Is FindaGift.ai free to use?
Yes, the core features are completely free — gift recommendations, wishlists, recipient tracking, and reminders. We earn through affiliate partnerships when you click through to make a purchase.
How do wishlists and gift claiming work?
You can create wishlists, add items to them, and share a public link with friends and family. When someone claims an item from your wishlist, it shows as taken so there are no duplicate gifts. You won't see who claimed what — only that it's been taken.
What is gift tracking and reminders?
Gift tracking lets you log every gift you've given along with what you spent, the occasion, and how the recipient reacted. Reminders let you set alerts for upcoming birthdays and anniversaries so you're never caught off-guard.
How do I delete my account or request my data?
You can request account deletion or a full data export at any time by contacting us through the contact form. We'll process your request within 5 business days.
